
So, you got Clearance Delivery down at Kennedy - well done - you've only just begun. Ground at Kennedy is tough. You have a LOT of movement areas to control to make sure no one hits another A/C or goes nose to nose. However, beyond that you'll learn that Ground plays a vital role in traffic operations hundreds of miles away.
1) Completed the training on the VATUSA S1/non-Major Local Control Page.
2) Completed the training on the Kennedy Clearance Delivery Page
To accomplish this task, follow the steps below
1) Log into your Controller Panel and take the Kennedy Ground SOP Class using the Training Classes link.
2) Read and study the Ground section of the Kennedy Facility SOP.
3) Work Ground control at Kennedy.
Spend some time online, ask questions, and the Training Staff will observe you and help you learn Ground like you never have before. Once that is complete, we'll look for you to advance. In order to work the Tower position at Kennedy Airport, you must:
1) Pass the ZNY Level 2 Basic ATC Test over voice with a NY instructor
2) Pass the ZNY Level 2 NY SOP Test over voice with a NY instructor
3) Pass the Kennedy Ground Test over voice with a NY instructor
Once you have passed the required tests, you'll begin your training to work Kennedy Tower Control.
