OK, you're up to Approach. Believe it or not, the Level 4 Classes contained what you needed to get the basics of Approach. As for PTAC and other nuances of Approach, you'll learn that with the help of the Training Staff.

At this level you will learn Approach operations for the Philadelphia TRACON

To accomplish this task, follow the steps below

1) Login to your Controller Panel and refresh yourself on the appropriate TRACON Training classes that are available to you (Levels 4 & 5).

2) Read and study the general TRACON and Approach sections of the Philadelphia Facility SOP.

3) Work Approach at Philly after receiving approval to do so (a simulated Sweatbox session may be required before approval to work the position solo)

Earning Promotion to Level 6: New York Center

Spend some time online, ask questions, and the Training Staff will observe you and help you learn Approach at Philadelphia and other Facilities if you so desire. Once that is complete, we'll look for you to advance. In order to work New York Center, you must:

1) Complete a practical examination of Approach skills (can be a mix of online and Sweatbox)
2) Complete a series of training sessions on Center operations with New York ARTCC Instructors.
You will need the Center SOP's and LOA's
3) Receive an endorsement to work New York Center from New York ARTCC Instructors.

Once you have completed the above tasks, you'll officially be a New York Center controller
